Historias de Washington DC

La corporación mediterránea quiere hacer mención a un personaje realmente peculiar y sin el cual no entenderíamos la música de los últimos 20 años: Ian Mackaye, ese hombre a veces místico y a veces salvaje que ha hecho humear nuestros reproductores y nuestras conciencias en tantas ocasiones.

Empezando por Teen Idles y por Minor Threat, (para mi la mejor banda de hardcore old school de todos los tiempos), pasando por Embrace y tocando la cima con los maestros Fugazi.

Su espiritu siempre ha sido el “hazlo tu mismo” , liberar la musica del negocio, convertir el punk en arte y ahí estriba otra de sus grandes logros, la creación y gestión de Dischord Records, la imponente factoría de Washington.

Ahora mismo sigue su aventura en The Evens y esperemos que gente como él sigan haciéndonos pensar y disfrutar de la música por mucho tiempo. (jau)
